Terms of Use
These Terms govern your use of Privy. Plain language, no surprises.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Privy app (the "App"), provided by NorthOS ("we," "us"). By downloading or using Privy, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Privy on Apple devices you own or control, for your own personal use. Your use is also subject to the App Store Terms of Service and Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
Everything you create in Privy, your notes, lists, photos, voice memos, and scans, belongs to you. It is stored on your device and, if you turn on sync, in your own iCloud. We claim no ownership of it and have no access to it. You are responsible for your content and for keeping your device and Apple ID secure.
Privy can lock the app, a note, or a vault with a passcode, Face ID, or a password. We never store your passwords, and there is no backdoor. If you lose a password, the content it protects cannot be recovered by anyone, including us. You are responsible for remembering your passwords and for keeping your own backups, for example by keeping iCloud enabled.
Privy is free to use. Privy Pro is an optional one-time purchase that unlocks additional features, such as unlimited vaults, a password per vault, document scanning, PDF export, and extra themes and accent colors.
The current price is always the one shown to you on the purchase screen in the App Store.
Do not use Privy to break the law, infringe the rights of others, or attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or misuse the App or Apple's services beyond what the law allows.
Privy is provided "as is" and "as available." We do our best to keep it reliable, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Sync depends on Apple iCloud and your network connection.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data arising from your use of the App, including content locked behind a password you can no longer provide. Keep your own backups.
We may update these Terms over time. We will revise the date above, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
